About Home Cost USA

We help American homeowners walk into a project knowing roughly what it should cost, before the first quote arrives.

What we do

Home Cost USA combines a transparent project cost model with local contractor search. You tell us the project, your ZIP code, the size and the quality level you want, and we show a planning range along with the assumptions behind it.

Every number we publish comes from a model we describe openly. We would rather show you the math than ask you to trust a single mysterious figure.

What we are not

We are not a contractor, a marketplace that sells rank, or a review site. Our estimates are planning ranges, not quotes, appraisals, or guarantees of price. We do not publish star ratings, testimonials, or awards we cannot substantiate.

How we make money

Home Cost USA is free for homeowners. In the future we expect to earn revenue by connecting homeowners with contractors who want project requests, and from advertising. Those relationships will never change an estimate or reorder search results. See our advertising disclosure and editorial policy.

Where we operate

We are starting with Texas and Florida and expanding from there. If your state is not covered yet, the cost calculators still work nationally, only the contractor search is limited today.
