What we will and will not publish, and how we correct ourselves when we get something wrong.
Independence
No advertiser, contractor, or partner can buy placement in our search results, change a cost estimate, or influence our guidance. Commercial relationships are disclosed and kept separate from the model and the content.
Accuracy and sourcing
Cost figures come from our documented model, described in full on our methodology page. Where we reference rules, permits, codes, incentive programs, we point to the responsible authority rather than paraphrasing from memory.
What we never invent
We do not publish fabricated reviews, ratings, testimonials, licenses, credentials, service areas, award claims, or local rules. If we do not have verified information for a place or program, the page says so plainly instead of filling the gap with plausible text.
Company information
Company listings show identity, location, contact details, and trade categories. A recorded business address is not a claim about where a company works. We do not describe a business as verified unless it has passed a verification step, and business owners can claim a listing to correct their details.
Corrections
Send corrections through our contact page. We fix factual errors promptly and note material changes to cost models.
